We are currently supporting a leading organization in Belgium’s financial and tech ecosystem in their search for a Data Scientist (AI) to join a multidisciplinary advanced analytics team.

In this role, you will lead the design and deployment of AI-powered solutions to enhance operational efficiency, customer insights, fraud detection, and risk management. You will collaborate closely with internal business units, translating strategic questions into robust machine learning models and intelligent automation frameworks.

YOUR ROLE

This opportunity suits candidates who are passionate about building responsible AI and delivering production-ready, value-adding models in complex environments

Key Responsibilities

• Model Development & Deployment: Design, train, and deploy supervised and unsupervised ML models (e.g., classification, clustering, NLP, recommendation systems) with measurable business outcomes.
• AI Strategy & Use Case Definition: Translate high-level business needs into data-driven use cases and proofs of concept. Prioritize projects in line with data governance and strategic goals.
• Data Engineering & Feature Pipelines: Work with data engineers and architects to prepare clean, secure, and scalable datasets using modern cloud and on-prem solutions (Snowflake, Azure, Databricks, etc.).
• Productionization & Monitoring: Ensure models are robust, explainable (XAI), and monitored post-deployment using MLOps tools (MLflow, Airflow, Azure ML).
• Collaboration & Communication: Present findings and model performance clearly to non-technical stakeholders (risk, compliance, marketing, executive) and collaborate with IT & legal teams for ethical AI compliance.

PROFILE

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in a data science / ML engineering role
• Expert in Python and key libraries (Scikit-learn, Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost, Transformers)
• Strong understanding of statistics, ML algorithms, and data wrangling
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerized workflows (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of ethical and explainable AI principles and GDPR constraints
• Fluent in English; French or Dutch is a strong advantage
